Parker was born on April 15, 1923, on the east side of Buffalo. His parents Leon and Rose were immigrants from Russia. His siblings were Rita (Pellis), Marjorie (Aghassi) and S. Thelma (Kushner). He made his Bar Mitzvah at and was a lifelong member of Lubavitz Synagogue, which later became Congregation B’Nai Shalom, and then merged with Temple Beth Tzedek.

He married the love of his life, Dorothy in 1948. They both lived in Greater Buffalo their entire lives, raising 4 children, 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Parker and Dorothy owned and operated the family’s 4 generation monument company, Leon Komm & Son, in which Parker was the SON in the company name.

Parker was most proud of his family and his business. He and his father built, and Parker continually grew their monument studio to be the largest and most advanced monument shop in Western New York.
He and Dorothy taught their children perseverance, humility and menschlekite, all with loving kindness and care.
